Catch-up with the family!

Hey there! I just wanted to share some pictures with y'all (as much as I can with the restrictions we have on the kids. One of our favoritethings to do as a family is go on road trips! I have memories (whether they're fond or not, I'm not sure) of driving EVERYWHERE on vacation! Most memorable, of course, was the drive to Texas. I want these kids, who had never even been out of the statebefore they came to us, to have some of those memories. After a year, they're finally learning to survive in the car - E even falls asleep quite easily now! Here he is, trying to fall asleep, but his eyes just won't seem to stay closed! What do you do when that happens? Why pinch them closed, of course!

Here are Papa and E gathering chicken eggs. It's going t
o be a stretch to be able to find a place in Juneau that will allow chickens, and we will sure miss them! Going back to store-bought after we've had fresh chicken eggs for so
long and see the difference... I guess it's one of those sacrifices you make! But if a potential landlord is reading this and can find it in their heart to let us bring a few of our chickens up, we
'd give you the best darn chicken eggs you've ever tasted. Heck! We'd even give them to you on top of the rent we pay! :-)

As big as Alaska update!

So, I'm new at this whole blog thing, so it may take a bit for me to figure it out, but I thought I'd give you the big updates as they're happening in our family! For those of you who don't know, Scott is the manager of the Fred Meyer Jewelers here in Ellensburg. We moved (back) here in November 2008, and we said we'd be here 3-5 years. We had moved out of Ellensburg to Olympia because we really don't like it too much, but they dragged us back here to promote Scott to manager, so we said after that 3-5 years, we'd be trying to bust out of Ellensburg again. Our big desire has been to go (back) up to Alaska. Scott worked on the Yukon River going between Dawson City and Eagle, AK for the summer before we got married and absolutely fell in love with it! Anyway, our ultimate goal has been to move up to Alaska. Out of the clear blue, the regional manager of the FM Jewelers called Scott up and offered him the store in Juneau! It was a year-and-a-half earlier than we had planned on even beginning to look at stores anywhere.

Soooo... now that this dream job has opened up, what do we do? I was JUST in the processed of being hired by KITTCOM (our local 9-1-1 dispatch agency), and what about the kids??? For those of you who don't know, we've got three foster kids. We've had them for about a year. The hearing to terminate the bio-mom's rights was set for April, but it got pushed back to September. We hated to turn down this job when we have no idea what's going on with the kids, and the State has really jerked us around about them since day one. But at the same time, we don't want to push the kids into yet another foster home just as they're doing so well and are really settled down and adjusted into our family.

Finally, we've decided to take the job. Scott's going up on July 14th, and I'm going to do my best to be a single mom until the hearing. After the hearing, I'm heading up to Alaska to be with my hubby (hopefully with kids in tow!). Anyway, that's what's going on in our lives right now.

Broke down due to necessity, not desire...

So for years - since before Scott and I got married, we had our little website (thenaegles.com), but things changed, and I stopped being able to do it for this reason and that, but I needed a website that I could use beyond what facebook allows... ;-) Maybe someday I'll go back to my own website, but when I have time!
