A Weekend with the Mahoneys

We had a great time with the Mahoneys this weekend! It's very likely to be the last time we (Scott, more especially) get to see them for a while, so they decided to come up to see my musical and to get to spend some time with us. Thanks!! I know that our kids LOVE spending time with them. Kelton and E are about the same age, as wellas Malli and R. Korban and K are a few years apart, and I know Korban gets a little annoyed with him, but man what a good example Korban is for K! Thanksfor humoring him, Korban!

We also had a blast of a time floating the Yakima River on Friday. The kids were a little incredulous about the whole thing: "We just sit here for 3 hours?" But in the end they all seemed to enjoy it. Except for maybe E. We're not quite sure what was going on with him, but he sure had a rough time with it, and ended up sitting in my lap for a good portion of it with his eyes covered. Maybe he just needed a nap? Maybe he got a little sea sick? Who knows - but by the end, he was beginning to perk up again and had fun with the water guns.

That night, Scott, Dennese, and the kids (minus Kelton and E) came and supported me at my show. This was my first time back on stage for about 9 years, and it was a blast! I had actually done my stage makeup at home and scared the kids before I went to get dressed and everything, and that was a hoot! The kids actually really liked it! They even got these cute little pirate hats that they've been wearing around. It was fun being on stage and seeing especially Malli and R at the edges of their seats, and they sure seemed to be trying their hardest to distract me by waving to me! My favorite was at the beginning of the second act when I'm coming down the aisles looking for Papa and asking people in the audience if they're Papa, and I got to go to the
kids! They got a kick out of that. "Mommy! I'm not Papa!!" The next night, K & R went to the show AGAIN with Grandma Layne and Auntie Lori, and we actually dared to send E with them too! He just sat right on Auntie Lori's lap the entire time, and was soooo good! It was too cute, 'cause at the very end of the show, we all come out in our night gowns and bridal veils, and everyone was quiet, except E seemed to think that was funny, and I heard his little giggle on stage. Bless my heart, he's cute! Anyway, thanks for the great weekend, Mahoneys! We're sure going to miss being able to see you so often! And everyone else: come to the show! It closes this weekend! My parents are taking tickets on Thursday, and K gets to hand out programs, which he's excited about. It should be cute!
